Water gives life to the garden. That can be the reason why many believe the souls of gardens dwell in the pools of the garden and wander around through waterways connecting the pools while feeding the garden. The water plants that cover the surfaces of many pools in Alfred Heilbronn Botanical garden trigger our curiosity about the inside of the water and the possibility of seeing the souls of the garden.

The Pool is a replica of the one piece of the seven pieces main pool in the entrance greenhouse of the Alfred Heilbronn Botanical Garden. While referring to the modernist concrete design details of the Botanical Institute and greenhouses, the concrete replica stands as an archaic piece in the exhibition space. The water plant, Lemna minor, is an invasive species that arrives from the garden to the exhibition space. By covering the surface of the water in The Pool day by day, the plants recall the plant life established in the garden and the insistent resilience for continuing aliveness.
